Afgelopen jaren stonden in Rotterdam de
beste trade teams in het vrouwenwielrennen
aan het vertrek op de Boompjes nabij het
Strand aan de Maas.
De 9e editie van deze wedstrijd in 2006 is tevens de laatste geweest. Al deze jaren was de wedstrijd onderdeel van de UCI Wereldbekercyclus voor dames. Meerdere redenen zijn voor de organisatie aanleiding geweest om in 2007 deze wedstrijd niet meer te organiseren.
Op deze site treft u daarom een overzicht aan van de eerder verreden edities van de wedstrijd die in 1998 voor de eerste maal verreden werd onder de naam Ladies Tour Beneden-Maas. De start en finish lagen de eerste twee jaar in Spijkenisse. In 2000 werden deze verplaatst naar Rotterdam en werd de naam veranderd in Rotterdam Tour. Eerst was de start en finish op de Coolsingel, de laatste jaren op de Boompjes, allebei in het centrum van Rotterdam.

the departure

the Boompjes close to the Beach at the
Meuse.
The 9th edition of this race in 2006 was also the last race in this serie. All these years the race was a leg in the UCI Womens World Cup. Several reasons made the organiser decide to organize this event no longer and stop this race as of 2007.
On this site you will find an overview of what happened in the former editions of this World Cup race, that started in 1998. The first editon was called Ladies Tour Beneden-Maas. The first two years had its start and finish in the city of Spijkenisse near Rotterdam. In 2000 this location was changed to the middle of the city of Rotterdam. Also the name was changed into Rotterdam Tour. First the start and finish were located at the Coolsingel in front of the townhall. Later the Boompjes with its view on the river was used for the start and finish.
